I agree with you regarding Polar (artic) bears. Everything that moves is food to them. With Grizzly (brown) type bears, they will usually still avoid humans, but if not, look out.

Black bears are small, scare easily, and will almost never exhibit aggression. Tell that to my pal who got between a black bear and her cubs. Damn, he'll never do that again. Even then, the bear just charged him and pulled up several feet short.
