Ever since I bought my 4wd I have been trying to come up with a good way to handle the trash I find on the trails and the Wag Bags that me & my PETT (porta-potty) create. I think I am on to something interesting and with my upcoming 5000 mile 22 day adventure from Canada to Mexico there ought to be plenty of time to test things out.

The basic idea is just a big metal ammo type military can with a nice clamp on weather proof and more importantly odor & ant proof lid. Then I took 3 u-bolts a drill and a couple of rachet straps to make it all strong & secure.

The nice thing about this size can is that off the vehicle it is a great size for a camp trashcan also.

I've done something simular for my cooler. I used a 1.5" receiver welded in the center of the spare rack, and the rack just inserts with a pin. To remove the spare just pull the pin to remove the rack, then remove the spare like normal.

Not a very good pic - just the only one I could find right now.

I have a ‘Store High In Transit’ box that will hold up to two WAG bags mounted to my roof rack.

I never once in my life thought of taking a picture of it, may I need to do that. It’s and old mil-spec radio battery box.

Yeah, you should take a picture of that box. It's so official looking with that stenciled text on it.

Thanks, the 'offical' looks was what I wanted. It's kinda hidden and I guess only the tall people notice it. :ok-kewl:

I'm going to have to put 'get picture' on my to-do-list. I've been busy playing with the rig, just no camera work.

I had to replace the PS pump. I've changed my PS oil twice since I got the truck, kinda sad the pump went bad already. Then I'm working on the front skid plate mount(s), plus some regular little PM work.

Hi Steve,

Looks good! Is that a cooler or a military surplus box?

Is that ..... military surplus box?

Yes.

It's spec tag says: Case, Field Handling for battery BA-5590/U

They had about 20 at the surplus store, and I recall a $5 cost, 3 yrs ago. Looking back I wish I had got a few, it works better than I figured it would. :beertoast:
