Hey,
Want to store lots of pictures from your digital camera that has a CF-II slot? Compact Flash memory II.
Look what I found. 4G microdrive for ~ 15.00 (http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=HMS360404D5CF00&cpc=SCH).
These are nice too if you have a PDAs to use for navigation.
I will let you know if I have problems formating one for my dig camera.

Jack,
I think you should buy an extra one and bring it along on the Applegate Trail trip. I'd like to take one apart to see what it looks like inside!

No kidding, for this price we can play with it.
I got mines today. I got two.
They formated with no problem. I took about 30 M bytes of pictures. So far so good.
Funny, the camera can only display 999 pictures. It can't show how many pictures I can really take with the drives.:chairfall:
:ok-kewl:

I have been using one for a while with maps on a Pocket PC device. It seen lots of back road driving.
Then I used two during a recent trip. Worked good. I am not sure they will survive dropping as a SD solid state.
I got the 6G Seagate units they had for sale on the same store. They did not work on my camera.
How is that as a feedback?

Just checked the store webisite. They have the 8G model. But is the same brand as the 6G I got that did not work with my camera.
I would be very nervous having 8G of pictures on the same device. If it fails, you loose it all...
Forgot to mention that the Seagate 6G microdrive did not work with my Pocket PC either.

Charles,
Sorry I was probably not clear. The one I listed above is from Hitachi. These work great. I had problems with the ones from Seagate.

A bit more on this microdrives. All the Seagate microdrive I got so far don't work with my camera.
I got and returned two Seagate 6G and just received a 8G bytes unit. They are not working with my Canon Rebel Xt. Also, they did NOT work with a Pocket PC device I have.
All Hitachi microdrive worked on the camera and Pockect PC; 4 and 6G bytes microdrives. Keep that in mind ...
