Thanks to BajaTaco, today I received a copy of the Overland Journal (http://www.overlandjournal.com/). It is beautiful. I am saving it for a quiet reading time, like the ones you get when waiting for service to be done on your truck.

Besides the quality of the pictures, I like when the paper is of good quality, and the text easy to read. I can't wait to read it all.

I wish Chris and Scott all the luck on this new project. I am proud to know them and follow their progress and transition from other primary activities to the ones related to back country exploration.

I will subscribe to it because it seems a good quality publication and to demonstrate my support. :ok-kewl:

Thanks,
-JACK

My copy finally showed up today as well. I was fortunate enough to have a sneak peak at parts of it, so I had a good idea about what to expect. After all the waiting (almost a year since I first heard about the project), I gotta say they did an awesome job! I am really impressed.

I ordered late, so I'll have to wait.

It is a very nice magazine. I like the paper quality, haven’t got much read, but Baja’s tent article seems to be very informative.

This magazine will be like National Geographic, to nice to throw-away someday.

They are working to improve the weight of the cover, or so I hear.

I'm also really liking the trip planning and resources sections after the articles. :ok-kewl:

I started reading mine. But as I said, I am saving it for the quality time, like waiting for some appointment. That will help kill the time and don't think we are wasting it waiting for someone...

After reading my first copy of Overland Journal, I am very impressed ... and very motivated to get back out into the outback as soon as possible! No true backcountry explorer can read this journal without getting tremendously excited about the material it presents. Chris Marzonie and crew have produced the benchmark overland adventure journal for others to follow. Their excitement shines through in its pages, and in addition to learning of new territories to visit, one can gain valuable insight regarding the setup of the ultimate backcountry exploration vehicle. Even the ads in this magazine are alluring for the genuine outback voyager. Congratulations to the men and women behind this outstanding publication!

Hello Jack, thank you for the mention here on 4wdtrips. And everyone, thanks so much for the kind words and feedback. We're so lucky to have this kind of support. We had a fantastic year in 2007 and exceeded all of our projections and goals, making the publication very healthy. We're all very excited about moving forward into 2008. We are very close to publishing our first annual Gear Issue. It's our largest issue to date, and will be a treat for anyone who enjoys gizmos, gadgets, and gear. We also have some super vehicles featured, and of course overland adventure and how-to's (skills) features.

Thanks again to everyone who has supported the Overland Journal. :party_cheers:

Hint: for any of you that purchased a one-year subscription beginning with Spring 07, your subscription will expire with the Gear Issue. You can renew your subscription online or via postal mail HERE (http://www.overlandjournal.com/renewals/).
