Alright folks, what interesting things have you hit or almost hit with your car. Pictures could work here too if they are NOT too graffic (I don't want to offend anyone), but not required by any means. I'm thinking some of you have hit or missed some interesting stuff.
Things I've hit:
squirrel
rabbit
dog
cat
oppossum
bat (still trying to figure out why he zigged instead of zagged)
marmot
black leather couch
millions of bugs
Things I've almost hit:
Deer and fawn
Coyote
Ferrel cat
Elk
Owl
Large bobcat chasing a small deer (by far the craziest)
People
Snake

:eek2: I once hit a big oil drill that fell off of a truck when we were following it thru a dirt road near Saugus!! It was something I won't repeat, and was probably too close to the truck as we were trying to keep up thru the dust. ( I did still make the property survey the county wanted!!) Buuuut....did learn my lesson on bumpy dirt roads!
I've also had near misses with a couple of big Rattlers laying in the road to get warm. Lots of near misses with diving owls at nite along the desert roads near the onion fields too.

The strangest thing that ever hit me was a Mourning Dove.
I was heading to the post office in downtown Prescott when a dove commited suicide on my windshield. I was only going about 15 MPH in traffic when I watched the bird fly straight into the center of the window - and it was at full speed (nearly double my speed). It made the biggest bug stain I've everseen - a real mess...
I really like the Mourning Dove's song:

I hit a dog once
Maybe one or two rabbits.
Funny, all on the pavement. That means I could have had an acident. But have not hit anything on the dirt.
I had some close misses with rocks. They came rolling down from the mountain during a rain storm. Once in the USA and once in Brazil. Got to some flood zone also in Brazil. Wait a couple of hours after the summer rains, all set.
Missed some horses too.

I was cleaning out dirt from my skidplate on my CJ when I discovered a bone about three inches long and about half an inch in diameter mixed in with the dirt. What ever it was had died a long time ago as there was nothing on it but dirt. Should I call CSI or just drill a hole in it and use it as a necklace? I'll take a pic when I get home.

Almost hit a raccoon the other day too.
Driving to work through Cuyamaca State Park has made my list interesting!
I drive in the dark frequently so I see many creatures.

As long as the bone doesn't look human!

My brakes are good and I avoided two raccoons this morning and then almost plowed 3 young does on hwy 79 - maybe 500 yards from just missing the raccoons.
I'm amazed since I hadn't even finished my coffee and it was like 4:30 am. I'm not at my sharpest then!
I'm thinking hard about a heavy bumper. There are TONS of deer this year. I must have seen 20 of them yesterday evening.

I've killed many small critters over the years with vehicles. Most memorably is the deer a couple of winters ago. Took out the whole drivers side of the truck, scratched both windows, blew the mirror to smithereens, and left a nose print right in front of the big dent on the fender. Bang! Truck rocked hard, kids screamed, I saw a deer with a very shocked look on his face slide across my window!:freaked:

Deer have that "shocked" look on their faces. I never want to hit anything, but I am not going to drive off the road to avoid them critters either.
Unless maybe a buffalo or moose...
