Edit - Need an update for the new Forum.
--------

What's an avatar? Here is one definition:

The term "avatar" comes from Hindu mythology, and originally was the name of the temporary body that a God uses when visiting Earth. In virtual communities, an avatar is a graphical representation of a participant

There are more to be found with a special google search (http://www.google.com/search?q=define:Avatar).

To set your avatar in this forum do the following:

(Note: if you upload an avatar keep the size small typically the files are 10-40K, dimensions: 125x95)

click on 'Control Panel'(top left of the window next to the 'log off')
in the next window click on 'Edit Options' on the line of links close to the top of the window
there is a section called Avatar
choose the option you want, most likely you want to upload on
select 'Uploaded Avatar' and
click on 'Upload Avatar'
a dialog window opens, click on 'Browse'
a file selection dialog opens, navigate to the file you want to upload from your machine
click on upload image
now you should be back on the 'Edit Options' page
don't forget to click 'Submit' at the bottom of the page. This should be it. If it doesn't work let me know and I'll correct the instructions.</div>

Steve, go to step 3 and then use the option for selecting an avatar from the gallery. The bat is in the gallery.
