Hi Cecile,
You are getting better in the research and writing.
How long take you from the beguining to end on these?

Jack, I'm always researching for stories one way or the other so it's hard to pinpoint how long it takes me. I usually set aside a week out of each month to seriously work on a story, then it's actually only 2 or 3 days out of that week that I'm formally working on the story. I take one day to take notes from my books, maybe 1 day to check the internet for anything else I might be able to find, and then another day to write the actual story. Of course before that if I haven't read the books that I am using, I have to do that. Sometimes, as in this particular case, I consult with the author of the book I am using, and my good friends David A. Wright and Robin Flinchum are valuable resources as well.
This is the first in of a series that you will be seeing over the coming months on the Western Mojave Mining Camps. Next month I will write about the respectable women, the following month perhaps the men, then perhaps a history on each of the camps - Goler, Garlock, Randsburg, Red Mountain. I've got some pictures of Goler, and some personal stories from a family that lived there that I will definitely be making use of.
