WORLD REPORT: Brazil </div>

Land Rover will be marketing its austere-looking Defender 110 in the U.S. again, after having quit this market in 1997. The opportunity is the result of the competitiveness achieved by the Brazilian plant in São Bernardo do Campo, state of São Paulo, inaugurated in 1998. Ex-vice-president of product development for Ford South America, Luc de Ferran, 58 (father of IRL driver Gil de Ferran), is back to active service less than four months after retiring. He has been assigned to supervise the construction of Hyundai's first assembly plant in Brazil, to be located next to the fence of Ford's industrial complex in Camaçari, state of Bahia, which he led construction himself. He was also the mastermind of new Fiesta-based compact SUV EcoSport, a hot seller in Brazil, in Latin markets and likely to be manufactured in other countries... > regarding the ethanol...

You do? Can you share a bit with us?

I am wondering how my 4Runner would do in Brazil with that much Ethanol. Would it corrode the engine and parts in the fuel path?

Jack, I will send you some info.

A little off topic - we were discussing the new Range Rover during the new year's trip, as I had seen one on the freeway when I was headed to Mexico... anyway...

have you seen the Range Stormer? (http://www.thecarconnection.com/images/gallery/7619_image.jpg)http://www.4wdtrips.net/forum/emoticons/rolleyes.gif ... with 22" wheels... http://www.4wdtrips.net/forum/emoticons/notme.gif... here is an article (at bottom of page (http://www.thecarconnection.com/index.asp?article=6734)) it seems the sports car image is taking over the 4x4 image.
