This is the time of year we all love living in Arizona!Let me know if you guys are interested</div>
</div>
Saturday November 22, 2003: Mexico border trail- This is a beautiful run through the extreme southern portion of the state, starting just north of Nogales and ending south of Sierra Vista. This is not a difficult trail, and is suitable for any SUV. We may explore several side trails if time permits. If you enjoy visiting / photographing old ghost towns and mines you will not be disappointed. My wife and I will be bringing our camera equipment as we intend to take our time enjoying the area. This is a perfect family run. Here is a picture of the Coronado National Forest area. http://www.expeditionswest.com/adventures/2003/coronado_2003/35mm/images/coronado_grass_jpg.jpg</div>
</div>
We will leave from the intersection of Arizona 82, and FR61, 4 miles north east of Nogales (N31° 23.30’ W110° 52.29’) at 8:00 am Please email me if you would like to come.</div>
</div>
P.S.- Even if you guys dont want to see me http://www.4wdtrips.net/forum/emoticons/smilewinkgrin.gif , Doron will have the infamous TLC UZJ100 therehttp://www.4wdtrips.net/forum/emoticons/shocked.gif Now you have to come...</div>
November 28-30, 2003: Smiley Rock (near Jerome/Prescott). Saturday would likely be the day for me. I will send out more details by Wednesday (11/19) when I know more about my (family) schedule.</div>
</div>
December 13, 2003: Vintage 4wd Run to Crown King from Lake Pleasant- I have always wanted to do this, so here it is… Bring your 1979 or older vintage 4wd vehicle for a day of vintage iron. Of course others with newer vehicles can come along to enjoy the show, but this is a chance to get off of the leather seats, and grind some gears. Just don’t forget to make the Chiropractors appointment for Monday.</div>
</div>
We will meet at the Carefree exit (#223) and I17 at 7:00 am. I know that is early, but this is a pretty long trail, and we want to have time available just in case there is a problemJ. I am also open to the idea of camping, but it will be COLD, so be ready for adventure. </div>
Note: I will be bringing my 1977 Toyota Land Cruiser</div>

March 6-8, 2004: Baja off-road / Spearfishing Adventure: We will spend the weekend at the beach snorkeling and spearfishing near Isla San Luis, just north of the Bahia San Luis Gonzaga. We actually need another vehicle for this trip, so interest party’s please shoot me an e-mail.</div></div>
</div>
April 29- May 4, 2004: Moab and Canyon Lands: More details will be coming soon…</div>

Brian,

We will have to work something out then! I have been wanting to try one of the Table Mesa trails (terminator, etc)

Is your Jeep a Rubicon? They are amazing vehicles. My travel partner for our Rubicon Trail trip in August this year has a stock height Jeep Rubicon and he made it through the entire trail without any major damage (he used/dinged his skid plates a bit). I dont know if you have seen the trip report on my site or not, but there are some pretty cool shots/videos of his Jeep. It is even the same color as yours...

Scott, my jeep is indeed a rubicon. I ran the rubicon this past July with about 10 other jeeps (well, we started with 10, only 9 of us made it---see the "lessons learned on the rubicon" thread down in the trail tips section for the unfortunate details). 2 of us were (still are) stock height rubicons. I left a touch of paint on Cadillac hill, and Seapahn munched a fender along the way (spotter didn't take into account the understeer problem with the front locker). That is a GREAT trail, providing you are set up for it. Definately one of my favorites.

I have been wanting to see the Table Mesa area, I have not made it up there yet. I have only been in AZ for a couple months, and have only ran a few trails outside of Florence Junction, and one outside of Apache Junction. I bet we could get Chris (bajataco) to come out and play.....possibly a couple others I know in the Phoenix area.

Of course I'm booked for the next few weeks. I am moving this weekend, and you know how that goes. Thankfully I threw1/2 ofmy junk away when I moved out here in August, so this time it will be a little easier.http://www.4wdtrips.net/forum/emoticons/smashfreakb.gif

Scott,

Nice schedule. Work is going crazy this year.
I do have to get Az if I decide to get an engine (this is a stealthy project).
I will need to get back to you on that. I am assuming that you are not coming the party on 11/22 then.

Please consider putting these trips in the Forum calendar. That help people know what is coming.

Hey Scott, I am definitely interested in Smiley Rock and the Baja trip. Possibly Utah as well.

Goodtimes, I will come out and play, but I am definitely not doing lower Terminator. Maybe not upper either. But I will help spot and take pics!

Also - Scott, I have a great spiral-bound, home-grown guide book for dirt trips in Mohave county, AZ. so I will probably be planning on doing some of those over the winter/spring and I think there are some trails that you would definitely be interested in doing - that combine sight seeing with camping.

By the way, we missed you on the Sibley Mansion run! I was hoping you guys could make it.

[quote]Chris,
[quote]Sibley Mansion:
[quote]I really wanted to go to Sibley as well, but the Jeep wasnt back together. It runs and drives good now, but I have to do some exhaust work still (the rubicon wasnt kind to the mufflerhttp://www.4wdtrips.net/forum/emoticons/biggrin.gif) .
[quote]Smiley Rock:
[quote]I was hoping you could make the Smiley Rock run. Is Saturday a good day for you?
[quote]Table Mesa Area:
[quote]I think goodtimes and I are open to other options, we are just looking for a fun SWB run. Is there another trail that you would like to do more? We could do the Martinez Canyon loop too. I haven't done the whole trail
[quote]Baja / Utah:
[quote]We should talk about these more next weekend (If you can make it)
[quote]Take care!

Scott, good luck with the muffler.</div>
regarding the trips...</div>
I think a Table Mesa area run should be based on your (you and Goodtimes) vehicles and ifmine can tag along, fine - if not, it's no big deal. I don't know if/what trails there are in that area that are do-able in my Taco. I would have to check into that.</div>
Regarding Smiley Rock, dang - I just noticed that is Thanksgiving weekend, and there is supposed to be a 4 day trip scheduled already? The KOFA area? I dunno - I need to check into that and see what's up. It seems like everyone has forgotten about that one.If the KOFA trip is on, do you want to do that instead? I am up for some camping in the desert - the weather should be perfect.</div>

Scott, I did the Martinez loop a couple weeks ago. The scenery is absolutely first rate! The trail isn't that difficult if you bypass the tough sections (can be done). Definately a worth-while trip! I didn't take any pictures....it is the type of scenery that pictures just can't do justice to (kind of like looking down into oinion creek from Top of the World).
