The Forum seems empty these days.
We are all busy with other tasks, huh?

You are right Jack. We can talk about my gaugeshttp://www.rxtx.com/4wdtrips/forum/emoticons/smile.gif againhttp://www.rxtx.com/4wdtrips/forum/emoticons/nono.gif

Or about the outdoor lighting I installed, or the new plumbing job for the Garage, or the rewire in the shop.

We could talk about the floor cover for my work shop, should I use paint, tiles, other? I'm thinking black and white tiles would look good, but since good tile would cost about $5000 ($10,000 if I do garage) I think I'll have to stick with the cheap-o vinyl tiles, but my tool-box may screw them up. Paint is good, but kind of bland.

If you just want exciting stuff, we can cover the new hose reel we gothttp://www.rxtx.com/4wdtrips/forum/emoticons/lol.gif

Hows the move going? Sold you place? got a new one?

When we shopped for floor tiles for the remodel there were plenty of good quality tiles (porcelain)for around $3/sqft, that would give you over 1500 sqft!
If you also include labour in your estimate, talk to the 'tiling experts', maybe we can help out http://www.rxtx.com/4wdtrips/forum/emoticons/smilewinkgrin.gif

Jack,
Posting at 4am??http://www.rxtx.com/4wdtrips/forum/emoticons/freaked.gif Shouldn't youhttp://www.rxtx.com/4wdtrips/forum/emoticons/smurf.gif?

Other things to keep some of us busy:
- wood work for countertop trip and window sills
- shoveling cu yards of gravel

Hey, yea - I've been busy too. But I did manage to do a couple of cool little mods on the truck... I'll be posting pics soon...

Trying to get together some info for Uwe's new mods too. And then there is always a little research going on... maps and trails and such http://www.rxtx.com/4wdtrips/forum/emoticons/smile.gif

I don't see a $$ on this site, but my shop catalog says $15 sq ft. I'm not sure if this includes labor, but at that price it dosen't matter. http://www.rxtx.com/4wdtrips/forum/emoticons/confused.gif but with the B&W tiles it sure would looks good http://www.rxtx.com/4wdtrips/forum/emoticons/smile.gif

I would think rolling my tool box across porcelain tiles wouldn't last long, no matter how well I floated the floor beforehand. Flooring is a ways off yet, but I would like to hear any input.

I guess my $29.95 hose reel isn't much of a draw eitherhttp://www.rxtx.com/4wdtrips/forum/emoticons/lol.gif Well Jack, I tried to have a big-draw posting, but no-luck. May-be people want to talk about slow hair growth.http://www.rxtx.com/4wdtrips/forum/emoticons/turn.gif

Well, that is the time I am allowed to work on computer things these days.

I am doing some work on the background to make my servers more reliable and safer. The darn Linux. So famous to be reliable, so complicated to set and maintain. Linux is a full time job. It came a long way since I tired it the first time in 1994. But it is still a LOOONG way from Windows in terms of installation, documentation, and easy of use features. Anyway, no need to complain. Yes, just on my small opinion. I hope the Linux lovers will forgive me for these comments.

Ha the time of the night;
The problem is that, once you start you can't stop. If not, you guys would be down.
I would need to work this coming weekend again on the servers. I just don't see how with all the moral support I have to give to Georgia while she does the real work on the house.

Here are some news.
Georgia and the kids are going to Brazil for some weeks. If I don't have to finish any work on the house then I will make some trips during the weekends. Just me and the dogs. I will keep you posted.

Steve, no, we have not put the house on the market yet. The market seems soft in the Bay Area, + we have lots to finish.

There it costs almost as much as granite slab!
Hey, granite tiles start around $9 http://www.rxtx.com/4wdtrips/forum/emoticons/smilewinkgrin.gif

As for 'regular' tiles, the porcelain ones are stronger than the others. I don't know how well all that works in a shop where you might drop heavy tools or parts, any type of tile might break there.

Can you rename this the real-man tile thread?http://www.rxtx.com/4wdtrips/forum/emoticons/cool.gif

I vote for the epoxy floor. I think it would be easier to put down, looks just as good, is easy to clean, and resists chemicals and stains. You can buy this stuff (http://www.homedepot.com/prel80/HDUS/EN_US/diy_main/pg_diy.jsp?CNTTYPE=NAVIGATION&CNTKEY=market%2fpg_z ip_code.jsp&BV_SessionID=@@@@0153944687.1055255312 @@@@&BV_EngineID=ccdgadciifgkmggcgelceffdfgidgmm.0 &search_text=epoxy%20flooring&DRC=4) at Home Depot and do it yourself, or you can hire a contractor to vacuum shoot the floor and apply it (http://www.completegarage.com/productEpoxy.html) for you.

Jack, we appreciate your work on the server!!! http://www.rxtx.com/4wdtrips/forum/emoticons/wink.gif http://www.rxtx.com/4wdtrips/forum/emoticons/cool.gif

Now I find this thread hilariously funny! I spent May sprucing up my kitchen after getting a new stove & refrigerator. But you ask, "where am I?" the last few days? Off adventuring, of course! We had our Piute Passage trip this weekend, then spent theday after the trip in Kernville, and headed over the Sherman Pass and 9 Mile Canyon to get home. I'll post a trip report sometime later as I still have to unpack the Forerunner which is full of camping equipment. I will say we had beautiful weather and sunshine - coming home to drizzly and June gloom is depressing!

Yes, I just have not told you and/or Marcelo yet.
I will need a temporary housing for the servers for a bit.
I would bring the router and all the gear. Just need to plug on the wall and on the cable modem.

Once I have a fixed date I will search for temporary a house. We are 45+ days out of the mission lift off..
Until we sell and close escrow will take a lot of time.
